Envy Her and Ban Soon Sewing Machines are running a joint roadshow at Oasis Terraces in Punggol from 17 to 30 August 2026. It runs for two weeks and covers machine demonstrations, hands-on workshops, repairs and CDC voucher redemption.
If you have been thinking about learning to sew, or you have a machine sitting unused because something on it stopped working, this is a low-effort way to sort both out.
What is on
Try machines hands-on. Sit down at a working machine and sew. Threading, speed control, straight and zigzag stitches, with someone beside you. Reading specifications tells you very little about how a machine actually feels to use; ten minutes at one tells you a great deal.
Hands-on workshops. Short guided sessions where you make something and take it home. Roadshow pricing is $49, reduced from the usual $99. These are genuinely beginner-level — no experience assumed.
CDC voucher redemption. Vouchers are scanned in person, so a roadshow booth is one of the more convenient places to use them. See below for what they cover.
Machine servicing and repairs. Ban Soon are sewing machine specialists. If you own a machine that skips stitches, jams, or has not been serviced in a decade, bring it or ask about it.
Machine bundles. The CDC machine bundle — a brand-new FEIYUE FYe393 plus a private in-home sewing workshop — can be arranged at the booth.
Using CDC vouchers at the roadshow
Worth understanding before you go, because it catches people out.
Each 2026 CDC voucher tranche is split in half. Only the heartland merchants and hawkers portion can be spent on things like sewing machines and workshops — the supermarket half cannot.

Who this is worth a trip for
People in the north-east. Punggol, Sengkang, Hougang and Buangkok are all a short ride away, and a two-week window means you can go on a weekday evening rather than fighting a weekend crowd.
Anyone who owns an unused machine. A machine that has sat in a cupboard for years usually needs a service, a new needle and someone to show you what went wrong. All three are available here.
Parents. The September school break follows shortly after the roadshow closes, and short workshops are a reasonable way to test whether a child takes to sewing before committing to a course.
People deciding between machines. Trying several in one place, back to back, is far more informative than comparing them online.
If you already own a machine
A large number of Singapore households own a sewing machine that has not been used in years. Usually nothing is seriously wrong with it. The three most common faults are all cheap to fix:
- A blunt or bent needle. Needles are consumable and should be changed roughly every eight hours of sewing. A worn needle causes skipped stitches, snagging and thread breakage, and most people have never changed theirs.
- Lint packed under the needle plate. Years of accumulated fluff around the bobbin case causes uneven tension and jamming. A service clears it in minutes.
- Perished belts or dried lubricant on older mechanical machines that have sat unused.
Ban Soon are attending as machine specialists, so this is a convenient opportunity to have a machine looked at rather than replaced. Worth asking about turnaround and cost for your specific model before leaving it.
Getting there
Oasis Terraces is a neighbourhood centre in Punggol, served by the Punggol MRT and LRT network and by nearby bus services. It sits within a short walk or LRT ride of most Punggol housing blocks, and is roughly a fifteen to twenty minute journey from Sengkang.
Because the roadshow runs for a full two weeks including both weekends, weekday evenings are usually the quieter option if you want unhurried time at a machine.
