To get an accurate fit, you need to measure your natural waist (the narrowest part) and your hips (the widest part). Here is a concise guide on how to do it correctly.
1. Measure Your Waist (The Narrowest Part)
- Locate it: Your "natural waist" is usually about 2.5cm above your belly button and below your ribcage.
- Tip: If you aren't sure where it is, bend slightly to one side—the crease that forms is your natural waistline.
- How to measure: Wrap the tape around your bare skin. Keep it snug but not digging in. Breathe out naturally and record the number.
2. Measure Your Hips (The Widest Part)
- Locate it: This is the fullest part of your lower body, including your buttocks. It is typically 20–23cm below your waist.
- How to measure: Stand with your feet together (this is crucial for accuracy). Wrap the tape measure horizontally around the widest point of your seat. Ensure the tape is parallel to the floor all the way around.
