You'll leave with a fully finished, two-in-one sewing accessory ready to use — not a kit to finish at home.

Good news — almost everything is provided by Envy Her Singapore. All fabrics, lace, tulle, sewing materials, design sheets, and tools are included. Here is all your child needs to bring:

• Comfortable clothing — nothing too precious, as fabric and thread have a way of finding their way onto clothes
• Closed-toe shoes — required in the studio at all times for safety around pins and scissors
• A water bottle — sessions run up to 3 hours and we want everyone to stay hydrated
• A small snack — optional but welcome for longer sessions
• An open mind and a big imagination — the most important things on the list

Everything else — machines, mannequins, fabrics, lace, threads, scissors, pins, and design materials — is on us.

Do I need sewing experience to join?

No experience required. The class opens with a refresher on machine basics and straight stitching, then builds into practical skills like quilting or padding a base layer, constructing a fitted sleeve with structured corners, and sewing patch pockets with reinforced stitching to securely hold tools like scissors, clips, and a seam ripper. It's a great way to practice functional, everyday sewing techniques you'll reuse in future projects.

Do I need to bring my own sewing machine?

No — machines are provided, so the fee covers equipment use, one-on-one guidance, and all consumables (needles, thread, etc.), with no hidden extras. Bonus: since you're sewing on a machine similar in size to your own, the fit and proportions translate well when you use the sleeve at home.

Can I customize the layout or pocket arrangement?

The class follows the pattern we provide, which is designed to teach a functional multi-part construction — sleeve, mat, and pocket — in one sitting. That said, you'll choose your fabric print and closure style, so the finished piece still feels personal and fits your space. Mastering this build (padding, structured seams, functional pockets) lays solid groundwork for organizational and structured sewing projects — and unlike a lot of workshop makes, this is one you'll genuinely reach for every time you sit down to sew.
