Do I need sewing experience to join?

No experience required. Every class opens with a refresher on machine setup, seam allowances, and pressing technique — so beginners and returning sewers start on the same page. From there, you'll practice interfacing and stabilizing fabric, boxing corners, understitching, and topstitching for clean, professional edges — core skills that carry over into almost any future bag or garment project.

Do I need to bring my own fabric and materials?

Nothing to bring — fabric, lining, zippers, hardware, interfacing, and thread are all included. You'll get hands-on with construction-grade interfacing, hardware attachment (D-rings, magnetic snaps, rivets), and zipper insertion, techniques that are often intimidating to attempt solo for the first time.

Is 6 hours enough to finish a full handbag?

Yes — and the pacing is built to layer skills progressively: cutting and interfacing (~1 hr), assembling panels and pockets with edge-stitching and reinforced seams (~2 hrs), lining insertion and "bagging out" with hardware (~2 hrs), and final topstitching and finishing (~1 hr). By the end, you've practiced a full construction sequence start to finish — not just isolated steps.

Do I need to bring my own sewing machine?

No — machines are provided, pre-threaded and tension-checked, so class time goes toward technique, not troubleshooting equipment.

Can I choose the style, size, or color of my bag?

The class follows our provided pattern, which is intentionally designed to teach transferable construction methods — like structured shaping, lining installation, and hardware finishing — rather than a one-off design. That means the skills you practice here (boxing corners, bagging out, topstitching) apply directly to future projects, whether it's a different bag style, a garment, or your own custom pattern down the line.
