The Full Day Maker

The Full Day Maker is the natural next step from The Casual Sewer — extended to a full day so there is time to go beyond machine literacy and actually make something. Not a sample. Not a practice piece. A real, finished, personalised project you carry home at 3pm.

The project is chosen with Jeannie at the start of the day, based on your age, ability, and what you actually want to make — from a drawstring pouch to a simple skirt with Envy Her Singapore lace trim. Every decision, every stitch, every finishing detail is yours.

Good news — almost everything is provided by Envy Her Singapore. All fabrics, lace, tulle, sewing materials, design sheets, and tools are included. Here is all your child needs to bring:

• Comfortable clothing — nothing too precious, as fabric and thread have a way of finding their way onto clothes
• Closed-toe shoes — required in the studio at all times for safety around pins and scissors
• A water bottle — sessions run up to 3 hours and we want everyone to stay hydrated
• A small snack — optional but welcome for longer sessions
• An open mind and a big imagination — the most important things on the list

Everything else — machines, mannequins, fabrics, lace, threads, scissors, pins, and design materials — is on us.

Do I need to have done The Casual Sewer first? No — The Full Day Maker starts with machine fundamentals, so complete beginners are fully welcome. If you have done The Casual Sewer, the first block is a quick refresh that sets up the whole day.

Is this suitable for home-schooled children? Yes — The Full Day Maker is an excellent fit for home-schooled children and their parents. It counts as a full applied learning day covering design thinking, fine motor skills, material science, and creative decision-making. Portfolio photo included.

What is a student free day booking?Schools that have free days during term can book The Full Day Maker for students who would otherwise be at home. Contact Jeannie for group pricing for 6 or more participants.

Can parents join their child? Yes — parents are welcome to join as participants. Each person pays $199 and works on their own project. It makes for a wonderful shared day.

What if my child does not finish their project? Jeannie's commitment is that every participant finishes. If a project needs to be simplified mid-day to fit the time, she will adjust scope together with the participant — never leaving anyone with an unfinished piece.

Can I bring my own fabric? Yes, if you have a specific fabric in mind. Let Jeannie know in advance so she can confirm it is suitable for your chosen project. All other materials (notions, thread, lace, trims) are still provided.

What is included in the $199? Five hours of personalised instruction by Jeannie, all fabric and notions, access to the Envy Her Singapore lace and trim archive, scrap fabric for practice, light refreshments, your take-home tip card, and a portfolio photo of you with your finished project.
