Refresh Your Old Bras: 2 Hour Workshop

Assessing your bra — identifying what's actually "wrong" with it (stretched straps, worn padding, ill-fitting band) so you know what to fix

Changing straps — removing old straps and hand-sewing new ones, plus how to adjust strap tension for better support

Replacing/adding padding — inserting new padding inserts, adjusting shape and lift

Downsizing a bra — simple technique to take in the band and/or cups for a better fit (great for post-pregnancy or weight-change fits, ties in nicely with the mummy audience)

Adding lace & embellishments — hand-sewing lace trim, bows, or small decorative details to make an old bra feel new and pretty again

Basic hand-sewing stitches — whip stitch, slip stitch, running stitch — foundational for lingerie work specifically, since lingerie fabric is delicate and mostly hand-finished

A little machine time — trying straight stitch on the machine for sturdier seams if needed

1–2 old bras you'd like to refresh — ideally ones that are still structurally sound (band and underwire intact) but need cosmetic updates like:

Stretched or worn-out straps
Flattened or worn padding
A band/cup that's now too big (for downsizing)
Bras you just want to prettify with lace or embellishments

Comfortable clothing — you may want to try the bra on during the session to check fit as you go

Nothing else needed — machines, needles, thread, straps, padding, lace, and embellishments are all provided

Do I need any sewing experience?

No — this is a beginner-friendly workshop. Most of the work is hand-sewing, so no machine experience is required.

Will I be sewing by hand or by machine?

Mostly by hand, since lingerie fabric is delicate. You'll also get to try a little machine sewing (e.g. for reinforcing straps).

Can I take leftover materials home?

No — materials provided are for in-class use only and can't be taken home. But you may purchase materials while you're here.
